Let me take you back to 2012, one of my first experiences with launching in the online business world. I was project managing (and doing all the other roles, too—content, copy, tech, you name it) for an entrepreneur launching his membership program. He had an amazing offer, we were excited, and we thought if we built it, people would come.

Spoiler alert: they didn’t.

We built massive spreadsheets mapping out launch dates, bonuses, emails, social posts—the works. But despite our hard work, only two or three people joined. We were constantly changing strategies mid-launch, doubting ourselves, and scrambling to figure out what would work. It was exhausting.

Looking back now, the issue wasn’t the offer—it was that the launch strategy wasn’t right for his business stage, his audience, or his style. And that’s the part so many entrepreneurs miss.

So What Is a Launch?

If you're an online business owner, you probably know that a launch is a focused period of time where you're actively promoting and selling an offer—like a course, program, or service.
