Use Your Priorities to Simplify Every Decision and Set the Goals that Matter Most

Running an online business often feels like juggling everything all at once. But what if the answer to smarter decisions isn’t more strategy? What if it’s remembering what matters to you most?

Let’s talk about your personal priorities and how they can guide your next steps in business. I have three examples to show you how knowing your priorities is your best business strategy.

The Power of Personal Priorities

This topic hit me on a typical Sunday morning.

I was running late for church, and had three things I could do:

  1. blow-dry my hair

  2. do my makeup

  3. or eat breakfast.

There was only enough time for one. I chose breakfast. Why? Because nourishment and presence mattered most to me that day.

It was a small moment, but one that perfectly mirrors business & life.

When everything feels important, how do you choose what to do next?

Business Decisions & the "Best Tool" Trap

Clients ask me all the time: "What's the best management tool for my business?"

The truth? It depends on your priorities.

Do you need automation? Simplicity? A team-friendly tool?

Knowing what matters to you helps you choose the right software without falling into shiny object syndrome.

Real-Life Example: A Launch Decision

I had a launch planned for last fall. The tech wasn’t ready, I was stressed, and I had calendar conflicts.

I paused and asked: What matters most right now?

My answer: Launching with clarity and excellence, not pressure. So I delayed it.

That one decision saved my energy and served my audience better.

Try This in Your Business

Next time you feel stuck, try asking yourself:

  1. What's most important to me right now?

  2. What values or outcomes do I care about most?

  3. How can I align this next step with those priorities?

Your pre-decided personal and business priorities are your greatest decision-making filter!
