You Don't Need More Training, Courses, Tweaking a Sales Page to Move Your Business Forward

If you're trying to grow your online business and you get distracted, confused, overwhelmed, or scattered, I want to share how to actually get things done in your business... It's simpler than you think!

You don’t need:

  • to gather more strategies.

  • download another framework.

  • to tweak your offer again.

Here's how to move your online business forward toward the vision you have for your business and life:

Put your head down and do the work.

Seems simple enough, right!?

Too often though, when things get tough, we online business entrepreneurs go into "hiding" in what Rachael Cooke calls "the evil research laboratory.”

This looks like tweaking a sales page, refining an offer, strategizing again, or reworking a project plan.

And then imposter syndrome creeps in, which ever entrepreneur gets!

  • Actors get it.

  • Athletes get it.

  • Speakers get it.

  • Business owners get it.

But imposter syndrome isn’t the problem. What we do because of it is the problem.

A few weeks ago, I had to ask myself a hard question:

Am I building, or am I hiding?

I was working on getting an offer out into the world. Instead of executing boldly, I found myself consuming more content. Listening to more strategy. Tinkering. Tweaking. Refining.

It looked productivity, but it wasn’t.

I WAS hiding!

If you are always learning but rarely shipping, you’re not confused. You’re avoiding.

Sometimes you just have to put your head down and do the work — even if you’re scared.

So let's talk briefly about imposter syndrome. Where does it come from?

Where Imposter Syndrome Really Comes From

Imposter syndrome doesn’t grow in isolation. It grows in comparison.

Scrolling.
Listening to launch recaps.
Hearing someone’s revenue jump.
Discovering a new tool.
Seeing a new method.

Suddenly what you’re building doesn’t feel good enough.

So you pivot. Tweak. Rethink. Delay.

And that delay feels responsible, but it’s actually just protective.

Your brain is trying to keep you safe from risk.

Building an online business is HARD work. Shipping something is vulnerable. Selling something is vulnerable. Launching something causes doubt.

Gathering more ideas feels safe, but safe doesn’t build businesses.

Execution does.

Focus on What Works, Not What’s New

One of my mentors, Stacy Tuschl, said something recently that hit me hard:

"Focus on what works, not what’s new."

We get distracted chasing new ideas, strategies, and what we want to build. This is of course, shiny object syndrome. It's when you believe there must be something better, a more optimized method, a more advanced process.

But what if what you’re doing is already working?

✅ If your offer converts…
✅ If your content resonates…
✅ If your clients are getting results…

Why are you abandoning it?

Sometimes the desire for the best is just insecurity dressed up as optimization. It’s FOMO in disguise.

Insecurity doesn’t need another strategy. It needs courage.

How to Keep Moving Forward

When imposter syndrome, insecurity, doubt, shows up, how do you keep your online business moving forward? Here are 3 suggestions:

1. Notice your thoughts.

Are they facts? Or fear?

Growth feels risky and risk triggers doubt.

So if your thoughts are not FACT, then just put your head down and do the work.

2. Ask yourself: What do I really have to lose?

Failure?
Rejection?
A learning curve?
Time?

Those aren’t losses. They signal growth.

And if you're a Believer in Jesus who has already secured your eternity, what do you really have to lose? NOTHING.

3. Get into action.

The best way to overcome confusion, doubt, overwhelm, imposter syndrome, and comparison is to get into positive action in your online business.

Not research action.
Not planning action.
Not reorganizing your ClickUp plan. (😬GUILTY!)

Action and execution.

➡️ Clarity comes from action.
➡️ Action restores confidence.

When you ship something, you remember your skill and resilience, and begin to trust yourself again.

Entrepreneurs don’t build confidence by consuming content. They get into action to build confidence.

Notice What and When You're Avoiding?

When you start to avoid certain activities and sneak back into "the evil research laboratory", are you avoiding out of fear, doubt, confusion, or just feeling scattered?

What are you avoiding?

That’s probably the work that matters most right now.

There are two types of entrepreneurs:
1 - The ones consuming.
2 - The ones building.

The gap between them widens every week because one is executing and one is not. Which do you want to be?

You don’t need another tactic. You need direction and focus.

It's time to put your head down and DO the work to keep your online business moving forward even if you feel scared.
